This time of year, I usually send Rick to the feed store because they have so many tempting babies that I just want to bring home. Today the list was so long and in my head, so I went into the store. They had Burbon Red turkeys one week old. When I gave my list to the cashier I added 1 Burbon Red turkey. She looked at me kind of funny because people usually get at least 2. I told her that I had 3 week old turkeys at home and I would just add this one to the family. She was concerned that the others would pick on the newby, but we had no problem with that at all and right away Burbon (his name) was one of the family. We had the week old turkeys out in the grass today for a little romp. The romp was ours. One of them grabbed a piece of a leaf and ran and everyone after them. It took us a while to get them to understand that there were boundaries to their freedom. Turkeys are very curious and true to their nature they had a great time exploring and tasting, chattering all the time. Then a car drove by and they ran straight to be cuddled and take a quicky nap. Tina got pictures of that too and one day I will post it. Have a great day!!!
