We have been so fortunate that the last 2 days we haven’t lost electricity. When the weather was in the single digits and teens, we kept our power. Today our high is 32 and at 2:30 we lost our electricity. I’m not sure how long it will be out, but with the warmer weather coming in, it really doesn’t matter that much.

Duh!!! And probably New Year’s too. Tina and I had quite an adventure this morning trying to get to the barn. The wind has blown the snow so it is all the same height. You would think that would be a good thing…NOT!!! I think you could best describe our trip to the barn as rolling rather than walking. We didn’t laugh until we got back inside.

36 inches and still snowing
This is the Cougar I remember as a kid many many years ago. We have gotten well over 36 inches of snow. It is so heavy that it keeps packing down, but it is measuring over 30 inches with the yardstick.

I was just remembering when I was complaining last summer about the 90+ degrees we were having. What was I thinking???? Of course, when it comes around again next summer I will have long forgotten trudging out in the snow thawing out water bottles and carrying hot water to defrost the troughs for the goats and chickens while the 18 degree weather with wind is blowing the snow in my face.
